In my opinion, organizations need to embrace the notion that during periods of change it is critical to ensure that policies and procedures are in place to identify individuals contaminated with “Negative Energy Fever” as a by product of significant change. It is important for organizations to acknowledge that during periods of change, the greatest risk to successful change is posed by contamination of the mass with “Negative Energy Fever” whereby everybody becomes pessimistic and paranoid due to the creation of a “Negative Energy Tornado”. In order to avoid such an unpleasant “Negative Energy Tornado”, it is imperative for an organization to identify any “Negative Energy Tornado” at its origins before the winds of negativity spin out of control and everybody is contaminated with negative energy air borne. It is important to note that negative energy is like bacteria which multiply exponentially until the mass is contaminated with a negativity rash. Thus, it is important to remediate the negative energy at the outset when the symptoms first appear before the symptoms become a fever, the fever becomes an illness and the illness contaminates an entire organization like a “Cholera Outbreak”. Although it may sound simple in theory to identify the source of the “Cholera”, in practice this can be quite complicated because one is dealing with the psychology of human beings such that there is no physical sign on the source of the “Cholera’s” head but rather there are signs which should point to the originating culprit. In terms of signs, human resources should be apprised that unusual, erratic, irrational, aggressive, delusional and/ or psychotic behaviours are generally a clear indication that an individual is suffering from “Negative Energy Fever”. Once the individual or individuals suffering from “Negative Energy Fever” are identified, human resources need to address these individuals like they would address an individual suffering from measles, shingles, chicken pocks, cancer or any other illness. That is, human resources should not treat psychological illnesses any different from other better known and more easily diagnosed illnesses. Generally, professional intervention is required to assist an individual suffering from “Negative Energy Fever” before it leads to a “Cholera Outbreak”. In situations when an individual with “Negative Energy Fever” is too proud to acknowledge that they have a psychological illness, human resources need to function like a UFC coach who throws in the white towel when the fighter refuses to submit but everybody sees that he or she will not survive the significant change hit. Although it is never easy to deal with psychological issues which cannot be easily identified like a scar on one’s head, an individual’s actions should generally pinpoint the psychological illness instead before it contaminates an entire organization with an exponential spread.

In summary, I refer to “Change Management Gangnam Ivan Style” as the belief that to avoid “Negative Energy Fever”, need to identify psychological illnesses in heads before contaminates entire organization with exponential spread.

As a continuation from my last blog whereby I believe the root of “World Peace” is centered on peace in the Middle East with the first step being negotiated peace between Israel and the Palestinians, I would like to remain objective and independent in my views such that I would like to now once again focus on Syria in my views as they seem to be the closest at this time to a full fledge military war of rage like wild animals stuck together in a cage. However, it is important to note that Israel and Palestine seem to be awakening from their hatred induced coma state with the potential for peace negotiations to be resumed in the near future in the United States. In essence there seems to be only one feasible solution at this stage, the national level, consisting of a national home for the Jewish people, a national home for the Palestinian collective, and that's all. However, Syria continues to currently be the thorn in everyone’s side such that as a friendly reminder, the wave of Arab unrest that began with the Tunisian revolution reached Syria on March 15, 2011. By the end of February 2013, more than 70,000 people, mostly civilians, were thought to have been killed and tens of thousands of others had been arrested. More than two million had been displaced and more than four million needed assistance, according to the United Nations. It is important to note that the proposed peace conference in Geneva and more access for deliveries of humanitarian aid continue to be deferred as thousands and thousands more suffer each day that all Parties choose to continue to play war games. Meanwhile, on August 6, 2013, rebels fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad captured a key airbase in Aleppo province, near the Turkish border. The opposition had been trying to capture this base since last year. Jim Muir, the BBC's correspondent in Lebanon, says the base lies on a major rebel supply route from Turkey. Rebels have also recently taken several villages in Latakia province, the heartland of President Assad's minority Alawite sect. They remain strong in the country's north, despite recent gains by loyalist forces in the cities of Damascus and Homs, and other areas of Aleppo. Without getting into further excessive detail, the key point to note is that it’s been over 2 years since this conflict first commenced on March 15, 2011 and still there is no imminent solution in sight. In my opinion, this barbarian tug of war by force will never end between President Bashar al-Assad who is backed by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah and the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces which is backed by the USA, EU and Israel. Although it is obvious to me that both of the respective Parties to this conflict will never concede to loss at the hands of the opposition, both Parties continue to try to win it all by going backwards to old school style bench clearing brawls. Although it is obvious to me that both Parties are ready, willing and able to fight until kingdom come, I do not understand why they cannot sit on their respective bum bums, stop behaving like dumb dumbs, and realize that all have lost and nobody has won. Furthermore, I do not understand how both respective Parties can be so blind that they cannot see that a military solution will drag out for an eternity as no one will ever bow on one knee.

In summary, I refer to “World Peace Lennon Ivan Style – Part XXX” as the belief that Syria needs a Geneva peace deal whereby both Parties stop behaving like dumb dumbs and sit down on their bum bums.

In my opinion, organizations need to embrace the notion that during periods of change it is critical to ensure that policies and procedures are in place to identify individuals exercising “Pessimistic Paranoia Syndrome” behaviours as a by product of significant change. It is important for organizations to acknowledge that during periods of change, the greatest risk to successful change is posed by “Pessimistic Paranoia Syndrome” behaviours whereby everybody focuses on the worst case scenario as opposed to the best so that everybody becomes pessimistic and paranoid and thus unable to peacefully rest. In order to avoid such an unpleasant “Pessimistic Paranoia Syndrome”, it is imperative for an organization to promote a positive, optimistic and spiritual aura during periods of significant change. In terms of the key foundation behind a positive, optimistic and spiritual aura, an organization needs to promote the four pillars of life consisting of: God; Work; Family; and Self as previously discussed. However, these are foundation principles which represent the theoretical framework which I would now like to translate into practice. Generally, if an individual does not believe in any God, their natural inherent compass will tend to be pointing to pessimism. Therefore, an organization should encourage individuals to share their religion with others in a non intrusive, non imposing and non force feeding manner by encouraging activities such as lunch in sun with an IPod to listen to music of God on Facebook. Second, generally if an individual only has the one pillar of work, their natural inherent compass will tend to be pointing to paranoia because if they loose this one pillar, they do not have the other three pillars consisting of God; Family; and Self to hold them up and carry them through any significant change humps. Therefore, an organization should encourage individuals to devote time to their families by implementing policies such as flex time so that individuals can better manage their family needs supplanted with a policy around the benefits of vacation time to solidify the family bind. In terms of personal time or self, this tends to be the item which is often times most neglected but the key to overall balance and equilibrium. There is nothing worse than an individual who finds themselves in a situation where there is no time left for them self because it can then seem that there is no purpose to being me. That is, everybody needs a hobby such as golf, hunting, gym, etc. like a motivating steroid before one finds oneself in a lifestyle which is without and meaning or void.

In summary, I refer to “Change Management Gangnam Ivan Style” as the belief that to avoid “Pessimistic Paranoia Syndrome” one needs the four pillars of life to withstand any significant change pain or strife.

However, it is important to note that Israel and Palestine seem to be awakening from their hatred induced coma state with the potential for peace negotiations to be resumed in the near future in the United States. As the first direct talks in three years between Israelis and Palestinians began in Washington on the night of July 29, 2013, US Secretary of State, John Kerry, urged Israelis and Palestinians to strike a “reasonable compromise” and named a new US envoy to oversee this latest effort to produce a solution to the more than six decades-old Middle East conflict. It is important to note that the proposed peace conference in Geneva and more access for deliveries of humanitarian aid continue to be deferred as thousands and thousands more suffer each day that all Parties choose to continue to play war games. Meanwhile, on July 28, 2013, Syrian state TV began reporting that the opposition enclave of Homs, held by the rebels since the summer of 2011, had fallen. Activists and fighters in Homs denied it, saying the government had made big gains but there were still pockets of fighters hanging on. Later though, one opposition source said the enclave was “80% gone”, while another said that fighters had been pushed to the margins. Hardly any activists or fighters in Khalidiya are active on Skype now, another sign that the retreat may have happened or is at least under way. Without getting into further excessive detail, the key point to note is that it’s been over 2 years since this conflict first commenced on March 15, 2011 and still there is no imminent solution in sight. In my opinion, President Bashar al-Assad is attempting to gain the upper hand before entering into any peace negotiations with the Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces. Unfortunately, President Bashar al-Assad still has not learned that what is put together by force will not ultimately withstand the test of time and that what goes around will ultimately come around although it is just a question of time. Therefore, it is in the best interests of all sides whereby President Bashar al-Assad is backed by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah and the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces is backed by the USA, EU and Israel to look into a crystal ball and realize that this conflict cannot be ended by force as for every action there will be a reaction such that the seeds of change have already been laid such that Syria will never again be the same.

In summary, I refer to “World Peace Lennon Ivan Style – Part XXIX” as the belief that Syria needs a Geneva peace deal as the seeds of change have already been laid such that Syria will never again be the same.

In my opinion, organizations need to embrace the notion that during periods of change it is critical to ensure that policies and procedures are in place to identify individuals exercising “Mad Cash Dash” behaviours as a by product of significant change. It is important for organizations to acknowledge that during periods of change, the greatest risk to successful change is posed by “Mad Cash Dash” behaviours whereby everybody focuses on protecting their ass to the point that there are no holds barred like a rumble in a bar. In order to avoid such an unpleasant “rumble in a bar”, it is imperative for an organization to promote the four pillars of life consisting of: God; Work; Family; and Self; and the notion of faith which is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1) by teaching everyone that for the world to normally turn, everyone needs balance consisting of God; Work; Family; and Self. That is, the modern day world seems to focus on everything else far less important than God’s presence such that they tend to run around like rats chasing monetary cheese at the expense of the degeneration of the societal seems. Although money is important in the sense that one cannot live without cash, there is a problem when cash results in a societal rash with everyone running a “Mad Cash Dash”. In order for there to be peace in this world, every man, woman and transvestite needs four pillars in life consisting of God; Work; Family; and Self for with these four pillars there is the balance of life while with only one pillar everything tends to crumble to dust and shatter or bust. Therefore, every man, woman and transvestite needs to reconsider their respective priorities in life which is not necessarily a function of time but rather is a function of balance and quality which creates human kind sunshine in line with the heavens paradigm. In the context of change management, if everyone within an organization has the four pillars of life they will be better able to function normally under any high stress situation such as significant change, without having to resort to any insane behaviour to survive, as with balance comes the benefit of feeling alive. That is, when an individual has the four pillars of life consisting of God; Work; Family; and Self, they tend to feel less threatened by significant change such that they are better able to weather any storm. It is logical that an individual who feels that if they loose the one pillar of work, still have three pillars to let them stand, will not need to resort to planting the competition’s heads in the sand.

In summary, I refer to “Change Management Gangnam Ivan Style” as the belief that four pillars of life: God; Work; Family and Self allows one to weather any storm and stand without needing to plant the competition’s heads in the sand.

It is important to note that the proposed peace conference in Geneva and more access for deliveries of humanitarian aid continue to be deferred as thousands and thousands more suffer each day that all Parties choose to continue to play war games. Meanwhile, on July 23, 2013, General Martin Dempsey gave senators five options the U.S. military could carry out in Syria's civil war, but warned that even limited involvement could backfire. Army General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, outlined five options that he said the U.S. military could carry out if ordered by the White House: (1) Stepping up training and advising of the rebels; (2) Conducting limited airstrikes; (3) Establishing a no-fly zone; (4) Setting up a buffer zone inside Syria outside government control; (5) and securing Syria's chemical weapons stockpile. U.S. intervention would likely further the narrow military objective of helping the opposition and placing more pressure on the regime but intervention could bring unanticipated consequences whereby should the regime institutions collapse in the absence of a viable opposition, the USA could inadvertently empower extremists or unleash the very chemical weapons the USA seeks to control. Without getting into further excessive detail, the key point to note is that it’s been over 2 years since this conflict first commenced on March 15, 2011 and still there is no imminent solution in sight. In my opinion, before proceeding to any of the above (5) options, someone less analytical should consider the simple option of picking up the telephone and giving President Bashar al-Assad a call to come to Geneva to negotiate a peace deal with the Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces. In my opinion, there is such a volatile mix of parties involved in this conflict that any little scratch of an itch could result in a lethal cocktail mix as brewed by a witch. The reality of the situation is that with so many big shots with big egos on all sides whereby President Bashar al-Assad is backed by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah and the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces is backed by the USA, EU and Israel any little accidental slip of a fart has the potential to result in bombardments like flying chemical darts straight for each other’s hearts.

In summary, I refer to “World Peace Lennon Ivan Style – Part XXVIII” as the belief that Syria needs a Geneva peace deal as any little itch could result in a lethal cocktail mix as brewed by a witch.

In my opinion, organizations need to embrace the notion that during periods of change it is critical to ensure that policies and procedures are in place to identify individuals exercising “Psychopathic, Masochistic and/ or Narcissistic” behaviours as a by product of significant change. It is important for organizations to acknowledge that during periods of change, the greatest risk to successful change is posed by “Psychopathic, Masochistic and/ or Narcissistic” behaviours. For detailed information on how such behaviours function in the modern day workplace, please refer to the book, “Office Politics, How to Thrive in a World of Lying, Backstabbing and Dirty Tricks” written by British psychologist, Oliver James. However, my focus here is on the realm of “Psychopathic, Masochistic and/ or Narcissistic” behaviours in the context of change management since by its very nature, significant change tends to trigger such adverse behaviours which I define as follows: (1) Psychopathic behaviours triggered by significant change tend to be leveraged on being the last man, woman or transvestite standing such that people can become cold, heartless and cutthroat in order to survive; (2) Masochistic behaviours triggered by significant change tend to be leveraged on being the man, woman or transvestite identified for a promotion such that people can become manipulators of the facts and circumstances in their favour via charm, smoke screens and mirrors in order to get ahead of the rest; (3) Lastly, narcissistic behaviours triggered by significant change tend to be leveraged on being the man, woman or transvestite identified as the top performing superstar such that people can become exclusively focused on me, myself and I with the constant desire to impress and stand out from the rest. The key point to note is that such adverse behaviours tend to be triggered by periods of significant change particularly in a white collar working environment whereby everybody tends to be focused on them self with an insatiable desire to survive the significant change as opposed to an insatiable desire to manage the significant change. That is, significant change by its very nature tends to take white collar individuals out of their comfort zone as they tend to have been rewarded in the past by a status quo formula which recognized their past contribution in an understood internal cultural way whereas significant change by its nature tends to threaten this past understood recognition. It is important to note that white collar workers differ from blue collar workers on a shop floor whereby blue collar worker performance can generally be easily measured by a “units-of-output” approach while white collar worker performance tends to be more subjective to measure by its very nature. The key point to note is that significant change by its very nature tends to trigger “Psychopathic, Masochistic and/ or Narcissistic” behaviours particularly amongst white collar staff such that if not managed properly such bad behaviours can result in an internal blood bath.

In summary, I refer to “Change Management Gangnam Ivan Style” as the belief that significant change, if not managed properly amongst white collar staff, can result in an internal blood bath.

It is important to note that the proposed peace conference in Geneva and more access for deliveries of humanitarian aid continue to be deferred as thousands and thousands more suffer each day that all Parties choose to continue to play war games. Meanwhile, Islamic extremists fighting in Syria pose one of the most worrying threats to Britain and its allies, particularly if they gain access to the regime's stocks of chemical weapons, Britain’s parliament's intelligence committee said on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. In their annual report, lawmakers said the consequences of Al-Qaeda-linked extremists getting hold of President Bashar Al-Assad's reported stocks of the sarin and VX nerve agents, ricin and mustard gas would be “catastrophic”. Subsequently, on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, militants assassinated a well-known supporter of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Lebanon which is the latest sign that Syria's civil war is spreading to its smaller neighbour. Mohammad Darra Jamo, a commentator who worked for Syrian state media and often appeared on Arab TV channels, was attacked by gunmen hiding in his house in the southern town of Sarafand. Syrian state news agency SANA blamed an armed terrorist group for the killing and Lebanese security source said supporters of the Syrian rebel opposition were top suspects. Lebanon, whose own 15-year civil war ended in 1990, is struggling to stay on the sidelines of Syria's conflict. Car bombs and clashes between groups supporting opposite sides of Syria's war have become increasingly common. Without getting into further excessive detail, the key point to note is that it’s been over 2 years since this conflict first commenced on March 15, 2011 and still there is no imminent solution in sight. In my opinion, the longer all Parties to this conflict choose to continue to live in a façade of superficial ignorance whereby each of the respective Parties believes that they can win it all, the more people will die each day and the higher the probability the borders will be crossed until everybody in the surrounding regions gets crucified to a cross. This is a problem which tends to arise when you have too many big shots with big egos on all sides whereby President Bashar al-Assad is backed by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah and the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces is backed by the USA, EU and Israel such that each of the respective sides is convinced that they are completely, unconditionally and irrevocably right such that until death both of the respective parties are willing to fight. Ironically, both of the respective Parties are partially wrong because killing like vultures, torching like dinosaurs and sabotaging like wolves is the formula for all Parties to loose just so that their individual egos do not get bruised.

In summary, I refer to “World Peace Lennon Ivan Style – Part XXVII” as the belief that killing like vultures, torching like dinosaurs and sabotaging like wolves is the formula for all Parties to loose just so that their individual egos do not get bruised.

In my opinion, organizations need to embrace the notion that during periods of change it is critical to ensure that policies and procedures are in place to adopt a “Rise above Hate Attitude” to change management. It is important for organizations to acknowledge that during periods of change, the best “Change Management Approach” is one whereby organizations are able to “Rise above Hate”. That is, if an organization desires the best ideas to surface on the table during periods of change, then an organization needs to identify the “Change Haters” early on during the change management process in order to rehabilitate any major negative energy created by these counterproductive change forces. It is important to note that “Change Haters” tend to manifest themselves in one of two generic forms consisting of either “Internal Change Haters” or “External Change Haters” or a combination of both which is the most volatile mix. First, an “Internal Change Hater” is an individual who tends to be introvert by nature such that they have difficulties speaking their minds and so their negative feelings toward change tend to manifest themselves internally or in covert indirect manners. In terms of internal manifestations, such “Internal Change Haters” may turn to alcohol or drugs as a coping mechanism which Human Resources should be able to identify easily by unusual, abnormal or erratic behaviours such that this problem should be the easiest to isolate and rehabilitate. In terms of covert indirect manners, “Internal Change Haters” tend to be introvert and indirect by nature such that they do not tend to speak their mind but rather will tend to resort to mechanisms such as resistance or sabotage to get their perspective across. Human Resources should also be able to identify easily this type of problem because resistance and sabotage generally tends to result is some sort of negative external action which only starts to occur after the initiation of the proposed change process. Second type of hater, an “External Change Hater” is an individual who tends to be extrovert by nature such they do not have any problems speaking their minds such that their negative feelings toward change tend to manifest themselves externally or in overt direct manners. In terms of external manifestations, such “External Change Haters” will tend to identify a target such as the “Change Management Leader” and initiate direct attacks on the “Change Management Leader’s” reputation in order to discredit the “Change Management Leader” and the underlying change management process. The “External Change Haters” tend to be the slyest who know how to play psychological warfare games in order to organize a direct attack without the “Change Management Leader” being able to fight back. The “External Change Hater” tends to be able to operate around the Human Resources Department with smokes and mirrors to the point that the one committing the change management crimes is supported by Human Resources most of the time. The key point to note is that during periods of change, it is critical to identify and rehabilitate “Change Haters” from the outset before they engage in destructive behaviours to either themselves, to others or both because like cancer, the change haters situation can easily be cured when identified early on as opposed to when the cancer has spread throughout an entire organization at which point the cancer can no longer be removed but rather the entire organization must move.

In summary, I refer to “Change Management Gangnam Ivan Style” as the belief that a “Rise above Hate Attitude” to change is predicated on identifying cancer early on before it spreads and an entire organization becomes brain dead.

That is, any action by any of the respective parties to this conflict on extreme ends will result in counter extremist actions by the opposing parties to the point that everybody will become insane and Syria will be showered with chemical rains. This is a problem which tends to arise when you have too many big shots with big egos on all sides whereby President Bashar al-Assad is backed by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah and the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces is backed by the USA, EU and Israel such that nobody seems to be able to agree to anything reasonable, pragmatic and rationale. Furthermore, what seems to be the most dangerous in Syria is that this “over analysis creation paralysis” relationship between the opposing parties to this conflict tends to fuel extremism, radicalization and terrorism because those actually living through the atrocities, pain and bloodshed in day-to-day Syria lose hope for a reasonable, pragmatic and rationale solution from the big shots above so that they ultimately decide to take matters into their own hands and create extreme, radical and terrorist bombardments seen by them as a “Solution Grand”.

In summary, I refer to “World Peace Lennon Ivan Style – Part XXVI” as the belief that when all hope for peace fails, Syrian fighters on all sides will take matters into their own hands and create extreme, radical and terrorist bombardments seen by them as a “Solution Grand”.
